Statement by Keely Monroe, Board Chair for The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS):

“The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is searching for a new President & CEO. Chitra Panjabi, our current President & CEO, will be leaving DC and the organization at the end of September to be closer to her family. We are grateful for Chitra’s leadership over the past two years which has helped strengthen the organization and Board, revitalize our financial position, and expand our programs. We’ve continued our work at the federal level, and greatly expanded our state policy, outreach, and communications efforts with the addition of new staff.

With Chitra’s departure we have an opportunity to hire a leader who can continue our expansion and growth, and build our intersectional vision for our work, the field, and beyond. SIECUS today is a national policy and advocacy organization that uses policy strategy and development, advocacy and education, and strategic communications to advance the adoption and provision of comprehensive sexuality education across the country. SIECUS’ vision is to create an equitable nation where all people receive comprehensive sexuality education and quality sexual and reproductive health services affirming their identities, thereby ensuring their lifelong health and well-being. Working in partnership at the national, state, and local levels, we seek to ensure that people’s diverse, lived experiences inform our policy and advocacy approach.
